About Us
Gary Young (Book/Lyrics) and Paul Keelan (Music) have been writing new and innovative Australian Music Theatre works for over ten years. Both are well known in Australia as Director and Music Director and this background in the genre enables them to write from a unique perspective.
They have established themselves as a leading writing team in Australia, having won the inaugural Pratt Prize for Music Theatre in 2002 (an Australian competition for writers of Music Theatre) and The Helpmann Award in 2007 for "Best Original Score" for their work, SIDESHOW ALLEY.
Gary and Paul are passionate about the music theatre form, with original book, lyrics and score. With the Australian music theatre landscape predominantly showcasing blockbuster musicals from overseas and new Australian 'jukebox' musicals, their body of work is unique in its variety of themes, particularly those shows with a true 'Aussie' flavor.
Both continue to work in the industry while writing and their passion and commitment to the music theatre form is strong and determined.
